5-6 Months

April was quite a busy month for us!  Here are some pictures of the things we have been doing!

We went with some friends to the Sixers playoff game against the Miami Heat...the Sixers lost but Richie won by getting this adorable little Sixers hat from our friend Brian and Heather.

Richie has a new buddy, Isaac.  Isaac is now 8 months and Richie just loves to play with him!

Our cousin, Madeline, received her 1st Holy Communion on April 30th and we had so much fun celebrating the day with her!
Our good friends, Jim and Christine, had a beautiful baby girl Katie in April.  Richie and I went over to visit and Richie had a great time seeing Katie and playing with their other 2 kids, Maddie and Jimmy.  Here is Richie with Maddie aka Richie's girlfriend.

Happy Easter from our little Bunny

Happy Easter everyone!  We just had to sit down for a little photo shoot :)
"WHAT?!  Did you say the Easter Bunny is coming?!?!  No way!!"

"Hmmmm, I wonder if this green stuff is edible?  I did start eating solids recently...this looks solid to me."

Posing in his big boy Easter outfit...smiles can be difficult to get at times since his newfound love is playing with his feet and he won't always look up at mommy for a picture!
We think he may possibly be teething as he has been making this face with his lips a lot lately!

Rubber Ducky....you're not the one....yet!

I have been looking around for a couple of weeks now for a new tub for Richie.  The tub we have now is an infant/toddler tub; however, Richie doesn't really fit into either category when it comes to taking a bath in this tub.  In the infant side, he is slipping all over the place while kicking in the water (mommy is breaking her back to keep Richie from going under the water) and on the toddler side he is all hunched over and the bath would be uncomforable for him.  So I went off of a recommendation from my friend Heather and bought Richie the inflatable ducky tub which her son loves (he is 13 months now)....oh the things we purchase for our children, ha!  I spent a good 15 mins blowing the thing up tonight and then put Richie in it to check out his 'posture'.  As you can see below, his posture is perfect....for watching tv on the family room floor that is! Looks like Richie's ducky friend will be going back in the closet until further notice.  In the ducky's defense, the box does say 6-12 months....Mommy was just hoping the back of the tub might support Richie enough to keep him upright!  Oh well, mommy's back will just have to deal with it until then!  :)

"Ahh, this is the life...perfect view of the Phils game!"
 "I'm watching you, Mr. Duck"

Our little Eddie Bauer Model

We dressed Richie for church this past weekend in this adorable outfit given by the Dore family.  We of course had to do another photo shoot....and yes, it is in the same chair in Richie's room.  Please forgive my lack of creativity in seating Richie in different spots....but he sits up and smiles so well in this chair that it's our 'go to' spot for pictures!

Baby Blue Eyes

Rich and I both have blue eyes so it's only natural for Richie to have blue eyes; however, Richie has the MOST beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen (I may be a bit biased).  They stand out so much, especially when he wears blue.  A few weeks ago, I took Richie to have his picture taken when he was 4 months old.  I scanned the picture into the computer so it's not as good as the hard copy but this is probably one of my favorite pictures of him to date.....I just had to share!
Here is our little guy at 3 months...it also shows his baby blues!  He also has the biggest smile ever which just melts your heart!
Sorry this pic got a little cut off at the bottom...the whole thing didn't fit in the scanner!

4 Months Old and many "firsts"

Well, here I am again apologizing for not posting any pics in the last month!  But life sure is busy with a 4 month old and our adorable little 4 month old loves our attention during the day :)  We wouldn't want it any other way though!  Richie went for his 4 month check up on March 21st.  He weighed in at 13 lbs. 6 oz. and is now almost 25 inches long.  He is meeting all of his milestones and is just such a happy baby.  He constantly smiles and is starting to laugh more and more every day.  I feel like there have been a lot of "firsts" for Richie in the last 6 weeks.  He has rolled over quite a few times from his back onto his belly, makes gurgly sounds in the back of his throat, looks all over the house to find mommy and daddy, and is starting to make all kinds of new movements with his mouth.  He attempts (and sometimes succeeds) in picking up rattles off the floor himself and he has started playing a lot in his jumparoo AKA the "command center".  We call him "nosey" because he loves to sit and watch us while we talk.   He has started eating rice cereal and actually does pretty good with it.  His highchair is all set up in the kitchen now and it is only a matter of time before he is eating fruits.  We have been able to get out of the house more and more with Richie since the weather has warmed up a little bit.  Below are some pictures over the last 6 weeks.  I am also going to attempt to upload some video of Richie soon!

Richie somehow discovered the fishie even though it is behind him in the bath....how cute :)
Richie loves bathtime!

 Proud to be Irish!
Not too thrilled with his buddy Jimmy....
But LOVED his girlfriend Maddie!!!  "Can I touch your hair?!"
TT came all the way from San Diego to visit Richie...thanks for stopping in TT!!!
I'm 4 months old today with Mr. Bear!!
"Lemme show you how I roll over"....(love those baby blues by the way!)
Step 1:  Lift head and put arms straight up...
Step 2:  Tilt body sideways and begin rolling....
Step 3:  "Yippee!  I did it!"  (you can clap for me now)
Step 4:  "I'm so proud...I think I'll eat my blanket now"

Look at me!...I'm 3 months!

Richie was 3 months old this past Tuesday, February 15th! I can't believe it! He continues to learn so fast and is so much fun to watch! He now holds his head up really well during tummy time, sleeps in his big boy crib only getting up once in the middle of the night, follows voices and sometimes even turns to find me when I call his name. He reaches out for a lot of objects and he is starting to snatch necklaces so if you wanna hold him, don't wear your fine jewelry ladies! I think he will start laughing really soon as we hear him do a little giggle once every day. It is also only a matter of time until he rolls from his back to his tummy....he tries so hard to do it but just can't figure out where to put his arm that's in the way just yet! Below are some pictures I took of this past week. The first picture is of him with a big teddy bear the neighbors gave him when he was born. I take pictures of him with it each month that goes by to see just how much he has grown.

"YESSS!! I did it!"

Still love to suck on my fingers
